appearance :
PB: Mos Def Any distinguishing features?: David stands at about 5'10" tall. He has something of an undernourished build, due to his habit of skipping meals when he's on call and sometimes when he's not. His hair is black and curly, and kept cropped very close to his head. He likes hats a lot, and when not at he hospital, he's generally seen in one - whether a newsboy, a fedora, or a New York Yankees baseball cap.
biography :
David was born in Bristol, the eldest child of Guyanese father and Kenyan mother. He has two younger sisters, Zara and Lily, and it was after Lily was born that the Stillses moved north to Scotland, settling in Dundee. His parents were both professionals - accountants, particularly - and it was expected that all the children would go to college. And they did, David enrolling in the University of Glasgow's medical program. Lily became an accountant, like their parents, and Zara went into the law. All of them are, as David's fond of saying dryly, the pride of the annual Christmas letter. David's something of an introverted type. He was quiet and studious in school, and he's quiet and dedicated as a doctor. Most of his neighbors would describe him as someone who's perfectly happy letting other people take the lead in conversations, and the few of them who've seen him at the hospital barely recognize him as the same man - at least if they've seen him barking orders as he pushes a gurney into one of the operating theatres. With patients and their families, he's as much of a listener as he is with his neighbors and friends.
He's close to his family as well, though they're all spread across the UK by now. His parents are still in Dundee, of course, but Zara went to London and Lily works for one of the oil companies up in Aberdeen, so visits tend to be seldom on all sides. People will often see him furiously texting, though; it's the primary way he keeps in touch.
extras :
To what extent can your characters sense ghosts (if at all)?: David is an extremely logical individual, and as such stubbornly DOES NOT BELIEVE in ghosts. No matter how weird the building is at times.
